Hugo
I decided to update the website to use Hugo, a static site generator using Go.
Reason for the switch
Over the past 2 years managing my own website, I found directly writing html to be very time consuming. This means I would not be able to update you on what I am doing as soon as possible since I still have to study for my classes. I became pretty frustrated and had once thought about just stop hosting the website altogether.
Fortunately, Hugo allowed me to write pages in Markdown. It will then render the Markdown file into HTML pages automatically according to a predefined layout based that can be customized to my liking. This saves me a lot more time since writing Markdown is significantly less time consuming.
Another plus side is that since I already do write-ups for my TryHackMe Rooms in Markdown, I can upload them directly to my website with Hugo and share how I managed to solve these rooms to you guys. It is truly two birds one stone.
What’s Next
Since Hugo allows me to write and publish blog much faster, expect a lot more updates comparing to before. The write-ups of the TryHackMe Rooms I did have already been published in the TryHackMe write-ups, so make sure to check them out. Since I have also finished the eJPTv2 certification, I will also be writing a blog talking about that soon.
The future is looking bright!
